ARTD 451, Ethics of a Designer in a Global Economy
Can ethical design exist under capitalism? Using the book “CAPS LOCK” as framework, students in EDGE explored that question, critically investigating the complex relationship between design and capitalism. This course culminated in the creation of individual zines, where weekly reflections were transformed into personal visual artifacts. Through this work, students showcased their unique insights and offered nuanced critiques of how designers can navigate and respond to the challenges of working under capitalist frameworks.
