ARTD 333, Typography 2
Typography 2 builds on foundational typography skills to explore how type and image work together. Students work with complex typographic systems across print, environment, and digital media, learning to balance type and image relationships effectively. The course covers traditional and emerging image-making methods, including responsible use of generative AI tools, with emphasis on ethical considerations when working with found imagery and AI-generated content.
Students apply their typographic knowledge by creating comprehensive brand identity systems for restaurant concepts of their choosing. Projects progress from foundational brand identity development through menu and packaging design, environmental graphics, and digital presence, demonstrating how visual systems adapt across different scales and contexts while maintaining consistency.
