ARTD 222, Typographic Practice
This course introduces students to type design through research-driven exploration and iterative making. Students create custom display type inspired by specific cities, drawing from architectural and cultural references to develop unique letterforms. The project emphasizes technical skills, including type anatomy, spacing, and layout, culminating in a functional display type, then a poster and specimen book showcasing their designs.
