ARTD 444, Typography 3
My section of Typography 3 explores advanced typographic design through real-world communication challenges, addressing a critical problem: researchers often struggle to share their work beyond academic circles, even when public support depends on broader understanding.
To meet this challenge, students use storytelling methods to transform complex data into engaging narratives, working with physicists and leveraging generative AI tools to better understand complex concepts and humanize them for broader audiences. Over the semester, they also build research and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills essential for professional practice. The course closes with a public gallery, where visitors can experience and respond to each student’s work.
